Lately...

Wowsers! I haven't posted in forever! A lot of things have happened! Another birthday of mine came, my grandma and grandpa came back from Arizona, my cousins came to visit, school has been incredibly busy, I did my Advanced Rudiments theory exam last Saturday, and track is coming up!! After this post I probably won't post till school is over since I have track on Thursday, and then after that I have to study for finals, and then after finals, school ends, and then I'll get my report card, and then it's summer! Here is one of the projects I did while my little blogging break was happening:

Me and my mom made them together. Aren't they just the cutest things?!

Did I mention I got Instagram?!? I am so pumped! You can follow me: claire_elisabeth2 - Although I will only follow you if I know you. Internet safety first, folks!

Although some of these may seem odd, I really want to do them all!!

To be continued. . .

Lists and Paper and Music - Oh My!

Hello everybody!!! First come the lists. I've decided that I will create a blog post titled "My Bucket List" and (as you can see from the title), it will be a post about my bucket list. I will add to it over time - you guys (whoever you are), will get to see what I would enjoy doing in the future. Yeah. I know. Brilliant. Lucky for me I don't think many people read my blog, so my idea will most likely stay secluded. Okay, moving on to (drum roll please), PAPER!!! So, this is the paper part of this post. As you can see from above, I've been working hard to create a beautiful paper masterpiece. My guess is the you could do this in a few hours (maybe even one depending on the length), but mine took me a while because I have been very busy lately - you will hear more about my business in the music part. Anyways, I thought that it would be good if I told how to make it since I'm sure many of you will want to know. Whoever you are. So here it goes. . . 1. Grab some paper. 2. Fold the paper over and over and over until you've reached the end of the paper. 3. It should now look like the picture above. Next you unfold it and start ripping it along the folds. Like so: 4. After you've finished ripping it (you can cut it, but I personally think it looks better ripped), you then take one of the strips. Like so: 5. Fold the paper strip in half. Like so: 6. Then fold both ends of the strip in. Like so: 7. Fold together so it looks like a heart. Like so: 8. Make multiple "paper hearts" and hold together. . . again, like so: 9. Staple pieces together, like so: 10. Now it should look like this: 11. Make a few "paper hearts", staple them together, then staple them together with another group of "paper hearts", and so on and so forth, until it looks, like so: And also, like so: And continue to do so until it reaches your desired length, so that it looks (again), like so: If you are wondering how I got the large paper heart flower in the middle of my paper garland, I just stapled a bunch together. Easy-peasy!! Thanks for reading my paper section of the post! Now on to music!!!!!! Okay, our music festival for our town and a few of the surrounding towns started yesterday. (Saturday). And Saturday was the strings day. So, I performed at it. I know that some of you know that I play the violin, and thats what I played. I think that yesterday was awesome, as I was very happy with a few things: my marks, the adjudicator (Anna Bekolay), and my playing. First, I played Allegro Brilliant by William Ten Have - my mark was 88!! Then I played Concerto No. 1 in A Minor by Johann Sebastian Bach - my mark was 87!! And then I played Allegro from Suite 7 by G.F. Handel with my sister, Emma, playing cello - our mark was 88!!! And then we (Emma on piano and me on violin), played Ave Maria by Bach/Gounod - our mark was. . . 90!!!! We did awesome! Next Sunday we are playing Ave Maria at the final concert. I'm really excited!!! Thanks for reading, and remember to always leave a comment after yo read so I know that at least one person other than my best friend and my family reads this!!! Thanks!! <3 Claire

Curls and Stuff. . .

Hello everyone! Hope your start to the year was amazing! Happy Valentine's week(ish)! Just thought I'd tell you about the latest things I've been doing. . . First up is school which has been going great. Okay, enough about that! Now for the fun stuff!!! Here we go. . . So, lately I've kind of been experimenting on my hair. First I straightened it for school, and now I'm getting obsessed with curls as you can see from my picture above. I've really loved these lately. I first put them in on Thursday night and styled them on Friday. Loved them!!! Then I put them in again last night (Saturday), and loved them yet again. For my hair, it doesn't really hold heat curls, so I like to use no heat curls. (Ex: sock curls, rollers, etc.) I used rollers for the curls in the pictures I took. You guys should really try them sometime. . . Silly faces with those fluffy little curls! Posin' for the camera! Being silly and showin' peace! Another typical silly me Thanks for reading! Hope you enjoyed this post! Remember to try roller curls! TIPS: Do not put rollers in wet hair, or dry hair, but always put them in damp hair. I recommend sleeping with them in. And finally wear em' with pride!!! Thanks! Remember to comment! Bye!

Happy New Year! (And Merry Christmas as Well)!

Happy New Year! (And Merry Christmas)! For my very first New Year's post I've decided to show you some of my achievements of 2012! Here we go. . .
Been to California twice in one year!!! (If you're looking for a nice and warm vacation to escape from all of the cold Canadian winters, this is definitely the place)! The Californian places I visited included Palm Springs, CA, (I visited Palm Springs in February) and San Diego, CA, which was a recent family/business trip. (By the way if you ever choose to visit San Diego, I would definitely suggest checking out SeaWorld! It was definitely the highlight of my trip)!
Crystal Lake 2012
Clear Lake 2012 Visited both Crystal Lake and Clear Lake this summer. Started with Crystal Lake by staying at Uncle Dave and Auntie Marlene's cabin. Then went on to Clear Lake, MB and camped out at Riding Mountain National Park. Both are quite pretty and really fun!
Started grade 7 with my closest cousins!! That was great, and we all miss them a lot! if you guys are reading this, please consider moving here, or at least coming to visit about. . . how about at the most every 2 weeks?? I really miss you guys! Anyways, you get the picture! I had a great time with them! It was really fun having them here and having a homework and study buddy! Thanks for the awesome time guys! I miss you!
Guess what I got for Christmas??? Yep! You got it! The Lego City Fire Station!!! Even though it isn't a record player, a polaroid camera, or a typewriter, I still love it, and it only took me about a day altogether to build! That was fun, and now I don't have too much room for more! (But once we get the basement done I can put it down there instead of on my shelves so I have more room).
Happy New Year Everyone! Hope 2012 was a blast and 2013 is great!

Busy, Busy Bee

Hi everyone! I have yet again been very busy, and as a result I have not posted in a while. And just a warning, I probably won't post again in a while, but I'll try. I will be super busy in the next couple of days as tomorrow is church, my violin recital, and also our towns community carol festival. And then the following Sunday I have our Saskatoon Strings Orchestra concert. Whoa! I didn't realize that I was so busy! Oh yeah, and I also have to do a multiplying, dividing, adding, and subtracting decimals sometime this coming week because I missed a couple days of school, and while I was gone they had the test. I also had quite a bit of homework, so far only in social studies, computers, and math. I still haven't got my english homework yet.

My Latest Activities

Hi guys! Sorry I haven't posted in a long time again! I'll try and post just a little more often! I've actually decided that I'm not going to talk about my school mishaps and misfortunes, but I will tell you about my school activities and out of school activities! First, I joined Club Volleyball, which I'm superdeduper excited about! Then I joined basketball! I really am enjoying basketball so far! I've only been to one practice so far, but I'm really excited to play games, and just be at basketball practices! And even before that, I decided to attend our school's ladies choir!
And now for out of school activities! I attend the MB Junior Youth. (Mennonite Brethren). And I also go to Small Groups, which is led by a wonderful grade twelve girl. (I wont't say names). And I have decided to continue with the Strings Symphony this year. And most people who know me will already now that I continue to play the violin! I think that is it, but probably not! (Since I think that I am quite the busy girl)!
I hope you enjoyed my Activity Post! Please leave a comment!
