Busy, Busy Bee

Hi everyone! I have yet again been very busy, and as a result I have not posted in a while. And just a warning, I probably won't post again in a while, but I'll try. I will be super busy in the next couple of days as tomorrow is church, my violin recital, and also our towns community carol festival. And then the following Sunday I have our Saskatoon Strings Orchestra concert. Whoa! I didn't realize that I was so busy! Oh yeah, and I also have to do a multiplying, dividing, adding, and subtracting decimals sometime this coming week because I missed a couple days of school, and while I was gone they had the test. I also had quite a bit of homework, so far only in social studies, computers, and math. I still haven't got my english homework yet.

My Latest Activities

Hi guys! Sorry I haven't posted in a long time again! I'll try and post just a little more often! I've actually decided that I'm not going to talk about my school mishaps and misfortunes, but I will tell you about my school activities and out of school activities! First, I joined Club Volleyball, which I'm superdeduper excited about! Then I joined basketball! I really am enjoying basketball so far! I've only been to one practice so far, but I'm really excited to play games, and just be at basketball practices! And even before that, I decided to attend our school's ladies choir!
And now for out of school activities! I attend the MB Junior Youth. (Mennonite Brethren). And I also go to Small Groups, which is led by a wonderful grade twelve girl. (I wont't say names). And I have decided to continue with the Strings Symphony this year. And most people who know me will already now that I continue to play the violin! I think that is it, but probably not! (Since I think that I am quite the busy girl)!
I hope you enjoyed my Activity Post! Please leave a comment!

In the Beginning

Sorry! Now I really haven't posted in a long time. Don't worry! I have an excuse! I have been very busy lately because. . . 1. I went on a trip to Clear Lake at the end of the summer 2. I started school on September 4 3. I have been really, really, really busy with school and schoolwork So as you can see I have some good excuses. Today in my blog post I will tell you about what has happened since my last post, but I will split the whole story into a couple posts, which means that I will have to post a couple times, which also means that whoever is reading this will have to come back so they can finish the story! Here it goes. . . So, I started school on September 4 and I was really excited for the new year! I was also super excited because I have a really awesome home room teacher, Ms. H. Ms. H teaches our class English, and Social Studies. She is so much fun and I love having her as my teacher. My next teacher is Ms. S who I also adore. Ms. S teaches me Health, Computers, and Phys. Ed. Then I have Mr. P who teaches me Math. Mr.P taught me math last year so I know what to expect. I also really like Mr. P because he really explains things well. Then I have Mrs. S for Home Economics. (In case you don't know what that is that is baking, sewing, etc.) I also love Mrs. S because she is so nice, she loves us, and I just love her! Then there is Mr. F and Mr. W (me and my sister call him Mr. Dubbs though). I also like them because they make Industrial Arts fun. (Industrial Arts is Drafting, Woodworking, etc.) By the way, I did not state my teachers full last name just for safety reasons. If you know who they are, great. If you do not, I'm sorry, but I just wanted to be safe. So now that we have the introductions done I can get to the good parts. My schooling. It all started on September 4. This year I got to go to school with my cousins because they are in the process of moving, which is really fun and I will be very upset to see them go. Anyways, I started school with them and it is going great and all my classes have been good and I have been understanding them. (Except fractions in math, but I don't think anybody does)! So basically so far everything has been going good and easy. So that is all I will post for today, but I will post some Clear Lake summer vacation pictures first for your enjoyment. By the way, keep checking my blog to see when my next post comes out because in the next post I will tell you about my school mishaps and misfortunes! Stay tuned!

I'm a Dreamer . . .

Yes, I am a dreamer. I am forever going on about the vintage knick-knacks I would like in my bedroom. I love going on the internet looking for vintage, old-fashioned finds. And due to my most recent search, I am hoping to make a trip to a nearby town to stop at the MCC store, and possibly what I think is an antique store. So now I shall show you my finds . . .
Vintage Typewriter
Vintage Record Player
Vintage Polaroid Camera
Fabric Covered Suitcases
Vintage Coloured Mason Jars
Amy Butler Flags
Vintage Pink Birdcage
Another great vintage idea! Take a jar and fill it with your vintage dreams. And now my vintage dreams must come to an end. For now. Thanks for visiting my blog, and reading my posts! All of the images above were provided by Google Images.

My Art Project: Canvas Word Art

My sister was surfin Pinterest looking for cool art projects when she came across Canvas Word Art. This is a really cool and easy art project to do if you are looking for some really neat art to decorate your home! Here are some simple guidelines to follow . . .
Supplies The supplies in the picture above include : 1. A blank canvas (size doesn't matter) 2. Sheet music 3. Paintbrushes 4. Paint (your choice of color) 5. Tacky Glue 6. Vinyl Letters 7. Mod Podge 8. Ruler Step 1. Pick your sheet music. On my canvas art I used busy music so as to create a busy look. By busy music I mean lots of notes and terms. Once you have decided which piece(s), (depending on your size, you need to think about how many sheets of music you will need) you will then need to decide if you want to rip the sheet music into pieces and then glue them on, or glue whole sheets of music on. If you decide to rip, you will end up with more texture. If you decide to use whole sheets you will get less texture, and more smoothness.
Step 2. Start gluing. As you can see from the picture above, I have started gluing on my ripped pieces of sheet music. I chose to do ripped pieces to give it texture. If you choose to use whole sheets of sheet music, start gluing them on.
Step 3. Now that you are done gluing your music your photo should look like the one above. As I said earlier I did ripped pieces, so mine will look ripped and have more texture. If you chose to use whole sheets, yours should be covered completely by sheet music. (It's your choice if you want to do the sides of the canvas. I chose not to, as they will not be the main focus). Now that you have seen what it should look like, take your vinyl letters, and use the ruler to put them wherever you want them on the canvas, straight. You can do a quote with the letters, or whatever, but I chose to do my name.
Step 4. Now that you have put your vinyl letters on, you may now begin to paint. Paint gently over the canvas, and especially the vinyl letters, and paint the whole canvas. I chose to paint the sides of the canvas too so that the sides don't pop out, since you want the front to pop the most. If you choose not to do the sides, that is fine. I suggest doing 2-3 coats of paint, based on how much sheet music you want to show through. I did 2 coats + touch ups.
Step 5. After you are done painting you can take your vinyl letters off. I chose to use tweezers so as not to make fingerprints in the paint. After taking off the vinyl letters, let your painting dry. Step 6. Depending on your type of paint you can choose whether you want to use Mod Podge. I did not use Mod Podge, because my paint had a shiny finish. Although, my sister did use Mod Podge, as hers did not have a shiny finish. If yours doesn't have a shiny finish, you can now take a clean paintbrush and paint the Mod Podge over the dry canvas. Mod Podge is used to give your painting an extra shine.
Voila! Now that you are finished your painting should look like this . . . (this is my canvas art)
Or, if you used Mod Podge, a not-so-shiny paint, and/or whole sheets of music, it should look like this . . . (this is my sister's canvas art)
Thanks again for visiting my blog, and checking out my project! If these instructions were too hard, check out my sister's blog: crysanthemumsnotes.blogspot.com Thanks! See ya!

Just Another Week ...

Just another "boring" week for me! All I have been doing this week is watching the Olympics! Really excited right now because a Canadian just made it to a swimming finals! I went to the city today. Got 2 pairs of jeans, 2 pairs of shorts, and 1 tee! All from Old Navy! Nice and cheap! The most expensive item that my Mom bought for me was $12! Wow! Guess what I am doing right now? Yep, you guessed it! I'm watching the Olympics! Well, see ya! I just gotta see this swimming event!
